Thrust Ball Bearings

  • Thrust ball bearings are designed for carrying Axial loads and are of separable construction, the shaft washer (ring), the housing washer(ring) and the cage-ball assembly are to be put together for use on the shaft. They are manufactured in multiple series, and as single-directional or bi-directional.
  • The single-row thrust ball bearings consist of a shaft washer (ring) with an raceway, a cage with balls and a housing washer (ring) with a raceway. These bearings can transmit axial load in one direction only, and must not be exposed to radial load. The bearings are manufactured in normal accuracy. However, bearings with higher running accuracy can also be supplied.
  • Bi-directional thrust ball bearings have two cages with balls placed between the shaft washer (ring) and two housing washers (ring). The central shaft washer (ring) has raceways for roller elements on both sides, and is mounted onto a shaft. The housing washers (ring) have the raceway on one side only. These bearings can transmit axial load in both directions. The bearings must not be exposed to radial load. The bearings are manufactured in normal accuracy. However, bearings with higher running accuracy can also be supplied.
